Baby bonnet - Reversible bonnet

About My baby bonnets:

In early spring of 2010 I found out that my little daughter needed a hat. Hat which protects her head from the sun and wind, both. In my grandmothers cabinet I found her old Latvian folk costume bonnet (in Latvian called – Aube). I saw that grannies Bonnet have both properties I needed – protection from sun and wind. After several attempts I made the first bonnet for my daughter. That’s how I started designing baby bonnets.

How it All began!

I was born many years ago, in far 1976.
As far as I can remember I was crafting, starting with the grandmother's button collection sorting and sewing clothes for my dolls. In school years I start creating clothes for myself, my younger sisters and friends.

I have a seamstress education, but my main sewing skills came from my father.
Also I have a lawyer education and my full time job is in very serious institution. Sewing and handicraft is my "heart thing". Handicraft helps to maintain a balance between my serious work and creative expression of me.

Children's clothing, I turn to for almost nine years ago when in our family came our first child - Christopher. Seeing the store offer, it was clear for me that I do not want for my child the mainstream clothing. So, my children had the original same-sewn baby shoes, clothes, hats and toys.

In February of 2010 our family has joined a daughter Catherina. She is our little princess, who likes to dress up (in fact, mom likes to dress her daughter).

In spring of 2011 I was looking for new occupation (while I`m still a full-time mom). Listen to a friend recommendations I was decided to try sell my handicraft items. I was opened shop on etsy -  http://www.etsy.com/shop/LittleKatysFactory?ref=si_shop
It was a great adventure for me. I felt joy and fear. Joy of fact that I can show my work a wider audience. Fear - to sew for money. My whole life I was sewn free of charge, just the same joy. But there was the first order, and things went :)

Now I have opened my second shop on etsy - http://www.etsy.com/shop/KatysHomeDesigns?ref=si_shop
